The greatest story ever told…
… is now handed over to the hands of a group of young vibrant artists and they are exceeding expectations.
KaSaMa

…a group based in the city of Mandaluyong, are Senakulo actors who launched their first take on the re-enactment of the passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Josh as Kristo

Josh, one of the young main singers of The Sentimental Groove and a tenor from The Holy Rhythm Choir played the role of Jesus Christ. Showing devotion not only to the role, but Josh is also one of the main set designers of the whole production.

Rachelle as Maria

Rachelle played Maria. She is a member of the Holy Rhythm Choir (Alto) and is currently one of The Sentimental Groove’s singers. Rachelle also played Samaritana and Eve.
Pieta

In this scene, a piece of original music was provided by The Sentimental Groove. Interpreted by Rachelle, the team tried to portray “Pieta” of Jesus and Mary.

Rachelle, despite being heavily loaded with roles, managed to learn the song in just a couple of days. With no monitor speakers, no voice effects, and no clear view of the musicians to help guide her, Rachelle and her music have created a scene that left a mark on the audience. The purity of the emotions that overflowed was as real as it could be. This young lady showed maturity in her craft that may take others years to understand. She is a true artist in the making. The crowd showed appreciation which is pure and real as well, and such a response took days to falter. Watch her now!
The greatest story ever told is about the passion and death of Christ. Here, it was told by KaSaMa for the first time and with a young cast. Yet, after all the colors and hues, why do these young individuals put blood, sweat, and tears to give you the Senakulo? Well, it is just a reminder that Jesus loves us. But, how much does Jesus loves us? He loved us so much that He outstretch His arms not just to welcome our embrace but to die on the cross and keep hanging there ready to take our embrace over and over again…
